Join the James City Chapel Cemetery Association
The goal of the James City Chapel Cemetery Association is to maintain an atmosphere of dignity and serenity, while providing safety for its visitors.
Membership in the Association is open to current and past members of Mt. Vernon UMC, family members of those interred in the cemetery, and anyone in the community who would like to support and/or participate in the perpetual care of the cemetery.
The officers of the association and the coordinators of the work areas make up the Cemetery Committee of the church, which meets quarterly. Volunteers to work in the several work areas are always welcome. The work areas include: Membership, fundraising and promotion, military affairs, interments and records, property maintenance, and flowers and arrangements.

Note: Eligibility to be buried in the James City Chapel Cemetery is limited to those on the current church roll of membership, including the constituent membership roll, and their immediate family members, in accordance with the James City Chapel Cemetery Rules and Regulations dated October 5, 2016. Burial privileges of past church members require the approval of the Cemetery Committee. For more information about burial privileges, please contact the church office.
